Academy, Devils and Allstars Meet Man City Coaches

22nd January 2011, A great thanks to all at Manchester City for coming down to the Soccer Dome this Saturday to give the lads a special coaching session. The feedback was fantastic from the coaches and they wished to pass on how well behaved and nice all the children were.

The boys had an hour and a half of Premier League youth training techniques and seemed to have a very enjoyable time. I am sure that all the coaches that attended also learned some new techniques to bring to training on Sunday mornings.

10th July 2010
, was the annual St Andrews Football Club Summer Tournament. The event was well supported by children and parents alike. Thankfully the rain held off and the pitch held up to 27 games of football in total. In typical Fashion in one of the games Germany beat England on penalties.

Before the festivities began the coaches and the dads had a game too. The first half was very tight with some solid defending all round and ending 0-0, however in the second half with legs starting to wear down the coaches took an early lead, unfortunately within 5 minutes the dads had pegged them back and gone on to take the lead 2-1. As the game went on the Dads took further control racing out to a 4-1 lead. The coaches managed to pull one more goal back and had three shots cleared off the line in quick succession.

Congratulations to the Dads on the victory. 4-2.

Derek Lindsay has done some in the past for the Jets and we would like to see the same from the other clubs. If anyone wishes to volunteer their services for this just email me and I can include your game reports.

4th July 2010
, some of the coaches and dads from the Allstars and Devils took part in the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride. The route took them from Old Trafford through Boothstown and all way to Blackpool along the country roads. The guys managed to complete the 63 mile course in a best of 3 hours and 36 minutes. All the proceeds raised will be going to the Devils and the Allstars for their new kit for the forthcoming season. Check out the photos tab at the top of the page for some pictures of the day.
