2009/10 Season was the first year that St Andrews decided to start their Academy and after an incredibly successful first year it has been decided that the Under 5 age group will be the induction year for the future. St Andrews will continue to place emphasis on fun football for all and invite girls and boys of any level to come along and enjoy fun, games and football skills.
The new induction will start at the last week of the current school term. The first week of practice will be held on the 12th September 2010. Any child born between the 1st September 2005 and 31st August 2006 is welcome to come along and have some fun at the Powerleague Soccerdome near the Trafford Centre. Places will be limited to 12 at first, if demand is high enough and hopefully it will be, we will expand to include a second team as we have done successfully in the past..
Each year Rik takes the coaching for the first couple of months and in that time we need to recruit a minimum of two future managers and coaches from the parents of the newly joined players. In addition to managers and coaches we also look for parents to join the Parents Forum. The forum meets on a monthly basis and arranges all the non footballing activities for the children.
